Here's a whole lot of news.........

I need to write more often, I know. That way you won't get a small book like this each time I bring you up to date. OK, here's some of what we've been doing.

===================================

We received the truck I bought on eBay, put it in a car show and took home a plaque.

===================================

I had to get new tires for it and that turned into a real ordeal. It has split rims and 6.50 by 16" tires. First, I had trouble finding someone who had the tires. I found them in Ohio via the Internet. Once they arrived, I set out to have them mounted. Also not easy. No one wants to do the split rims. Finally after finding one guy that wanted too much, I found someone to do them at a good price. Glenn Tire Sales at 5803 N. Roxboro Road in Durham. If you need any tires, and go there, please mention TechShop. I gave them some TechShop flyers to hand out too. Great people there and they know what they are doing. I recommend them.

===================================

Since I last wrote about ordering the ShopBot.......................

We changed the ShopBot order to match the unit at HQ. (No vacuum, 2 HP spindle)

And now the ShopBot has actually arrived! Actually, I went and picked it up with the company truck today.

===================================

We have almost finished the floor scraping.

===================================

We bought a bunch of chairs, I got my desk and office chair, a couple of other chairs and two bookcases for my office. We also picked up some tables and chairs for the conference rooms and some tables for the Hub.

Things are moving along.

===================================

Tom Atkins from HQ is here. He is a licensed contractor from California and here to help with our buildout.

===================================

New work parties coming up will be tearing out a few walls, building a few more, running electrical lines, running plumbing lines for the compressed air and building the work tables.

===================================

And of course, we are still looking for lenders. We need some more to be able to get all the equipment we want, so if you know of anyone who might want to be one of our heroes, let us know. I have heard people say they have lost a ton of money in the market lately. Too bad they didn't put their money into TechShop. The banks give next to nothing,
CDs are paying only a couple of percent but we are still offering 10% on your money. There are no guarantees, but hey, there are no guarantees in the market either. If it were me, I'd put my money into TechShop. Oh yeah, I already did.
