We have huge news today. We got the keys to the building and can start our buildout immediately.
There were times I really wondered if this day would ever happen, and even though the date has been set for some time, the delays and obstacles had us wondering if it would actually happen today or not. Actually the scheduled date was Sept 1, which was a holiday, so the 2nd would have been the earliest it could have happened and we got it done today. You probably wouldn't believe what we have gone through for the insurance alone. But we did it and now are ready to do the part I've been looking forward to all along - actually building TechShop Durham.
We'll be gathering tools, materials and people to put this all together. Look for other news about meet-up dates and work party dates coming up soon.

Yup, that's my daily driver. I love it. Even before the price of gas went through the roof I liked squeezing the mileage out of it. Some tanks I can get up to 69 MPG, but usually I'm down around 58. I reset "trip B" at each fillup. I get about 600 miles per ten gallon tank.
I actually have ten vehicles right now. 3 40 foot buses from '68 to '74, one 27 foot 73 GMC Motorhome, one 73 or 4 Ford van, an '85 Nissan Sentra that got smashed in front. I want to use that for alternative fuel experimentation. Let's see, that's 6. I also have the Honda Insight, Theresa drives a ninety something Buick, we've got an eighty something Volvo four door and the 48 Dodge truck makes ten.
Gotta sell a bus or two, but then we think about converting them to alternative fuels or growing fuel or........... or...... or..........
