Vacuum Former Started

Our vacuum former was started today- it's based on the design from http://tk560.com/vactable4.html .
We'll eventually need a better system, but we can get up and running with a shopvac and this:
vacuum forming table!
I've also located some steel angle iron languishing in the shop, which can be used for the former's frame- the part which holds the plastic in place and swings it between the oven and the platen.

Awesome

Let me know if I can be of any assistance. I'm itching to do some forming.

My boys must never learn of

My boys must never learn of this or I'll be stuck making Clone Trooper and Transformer parts from now 'til forever.

Vacuum Former
Took a while, but it's functional. Need to pick up some <.125" plastic. It should be fine for 1/16" stuff, though.

Way cool!

Oh, boy! A new gizmo for making toys ;-)

Actually, this has potential for making all kinds of things. Good job, Michael.
